Kara Apland has been contracted to complete an individual consultancy providing documentation, knowledge management and policy writing support for UNICEF Nepal’s Child Protection and Social Policy, Evidence and Evaluation Sections. The consultancy is aimed at supporting UNICEF Nepal to utilise its strong evidence base on the social and economic impacts of Covid-19 as well as on programmatic work in child protection and social protection. Kara will produce a series of knowledge products, including editorial pieces, advocacy messages, policy papers and concept notes, which will be used by UNICEF to support its advocacy and programmatic agendas.
Coram International provided technical assistance to the Government in Nepal in 2007 to review the Child Act (which was at that time in draft form). Coram International assessed the extent to which the Act is compatible with international standards and the country’s international legal obligations, including under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and identified any gaps or areas of concern. Coram International also provided recommendations for revising the draft to bring it into compliance with international standards.
